Door window glass — removal and installation
Warning: Wear gloves when working inside the door openings to protect against cuts from sharp metal edges.
Front door glass
1. Remove the door trim panel and the plastic water shield (see Door trim panels — removal and installation).
2. Using a screwdriver, disengage the four weatherstrip mounting clips and lift the weatherstrip out.
Note: On Lexus models, remove the window frame trim mounting clips and pry the trim out of the window frame.
3. Remove the outer mirror plastic water- shield (if equipped).
4. On Avalon models, remove the door armrest trim bracket
5. Lower the window glass all the way down into the door.
6. Raise the window just enough to access the window retaining bolts through the holes in the door frame (see illustration).

7. Place a rag over the glass to help pre- vent scratching the glass and remove the glass mounting bolts. Caution: Once the window retaining bolts have been removed, the window may fall and break.
8. Rotate the front end of the glass slightly down, then lift the window up and out.
9. Installation is the reverse of removal. When installing the glass in Avalon models, make sure the glass is level in the door opening before tightening the bolts.
Rear door glass
10. Remove the door panel and water shield (see Door trim panels — removal and installation). Remove the rear run channel bolts located at the top of the door and the lower portion of the channel.
11. Pull the rear quarter glass weatherstrip- ping out and slide the quarter glass forward and out.
12. Lower the window enough to see the regulator bar. Push the glass guide arms back and out of the regulator, then remove the glass through the window opening.
13. Installation is the reverse of removal.
