Ignition coil — replacement
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal (see Battery — disconnection and reconnection).
Four-cylinder engines
2. On 2009 and earlier models, remove the engine cover mounting fasteners and lift the engine cover off. On 2010 and later models, lift the engine cover up from the rear, then the front and remove the cover from the mounting pins (see illustration).

V6 engines
3. Pry the engine covers up from the rear and remove the cover from the mounting pins.
4. Remove the upper intake manifold (see V6 engine) to access the rear ignition coils.
All models
5. Each ignition coil/igniter assembly is secured by one bolt (see illustration). Unscrew the bolt, disconnect the electrical connector and pull the coil/igniter assembly straight up, using a twisting motion (see illustration).
