Starter motor — removal and installation
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal (see Battery — disconnection and reconnection).
2. Remove the engine cover (s).
3. Remove the air filter housing and air inlet duct (see Fuel and exhaust systems).
4. Detach the electrical connectors from the starter/solenoid assembly (see illustration).

5. Remove the starter motor mounting bolts. Remove the starter motor assembly from the engine compartment.
6. Installation is the reverse of removal.
