Manual transaxle

1. The vehicles covered by this manual are equipped with either a 5-speed or 6-speed manual or a 5-speed or 6-speed automatic transaxle. The E351 5-speed manual transaxle is used on 2009 and earlier models, and the EB62 6-speed is used on 2010 and later models. Information on the manual transaxle is included in this Part. Service procedures for the automatic transaxles are contained in Chapter 7, Part B.

2. The manual transaxles are a compact, two-piece, lightweight aluminum alloy housing containing both the transmission and differential assemblies.

3. Because of the complexity, unavailability of replacement parts and special tools necessary, internal repair procedures for the manual transaxle are not recommended for the home mechanic. The bulk of information in this Chapter is devoted to removal and installation procedures.
