Fuel tank cap gasket inspection and replacement
1. Remove the tank cap and inspect the rubber gasket for cracks or tears.
2. If replacement is necessary, carefully pry the old gasket out of the recess (see illustration). Be very careful not to damage the sealing surface inside the cap.

4. Install the cap, then remove it and make sure the gasket seals all the way around.
